Craig is a successful biotech engineer with 14 years of experience working for manufacturing plants in the San Francisco and Sacramento areas. Interested in biotechnology from a young age, he holds an Associate of Science in Chemistry and Engineering from Sierra College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
Craig started his career at Roberts Technical Services in 1996 and subsequently made an impact while working as a Systems Application Engineer for a refinery in Martinez. As a Systems Application Engineer, he provided technical support for all aspects of the refinery’s Plant Information (PI) systems and client software. In addition, he maintained the refinery’s efficiency and reliability through plant reports.
Biotechnology firm Genentech, Inc. hired him as a Database Specialist in 1998. In this role Craig supplied the firm’s Vacaville facility with new software and approaches to gathering and distributing manufacturing process data. His leadership and skill gave him prominence at Genentech, where he earned several Recognition Awards for his noteworthy contributions.
He also used his talents during his tenure as PI Administrator at California ISO electric utility starting in 2001. Giving presentations on seven papers at numerous major conferences on PI technology and system administration while at California ISO. Craig's aptitude for system administration proved instrumental in keeping California ISO’s PI systems running 100% of the time in the entire year of 2004. During this period, he earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of California, Davis.
Currently, Craig resides in Granite Bay while working for Genentech as a Senior Data Systems Engineer. He enjoys woodworking and landscape improvement outside of work, as well as listening to music and reading fiction.
